The United Nations Inter-Agency Network on Youth Development hosted an Open Meeting with Youth-led Organizations, Networks and Movements on 18-20 September at United Nations Headquarters in New York. The meeting brought together representatives of the 40 member entities of the Network and over 100 youth-led organizations, networks and movements. The aim was to identify ways in which the Inter-agency Network on Youth Development could better work with and for young people, present the rationale for and components of the UN System-Wide Action Plan on Youth, to find innovative ways to partner with young people in the implementation of the System-Wide Action Plan on Youth, and to discuss options to strengthen institutional mechanisms for meaningful youth participation in the United Nations system and contribution to the implementation and monitoring of UN-led activities on youth.
